Our Team

Dr. Abhay Agarwal

Dr. Abhay Agarwal is a Board-Certified Internal Medicine Physician and the cofounder of Cary Medical Clinic, serving the Triangle area for more than 25 years. He provides comprehensive primary care to adolescents and adults with a strong emphasis on preventive health, cardiovascular wellness, and long-term disease management.

Dr. Agarwal completed his Internal Medicine residency at Thomas Jefferson University in Philadelphia, followed by fifteen months of additional cardiology training. Early in his career, he was honored with the Physicians Recognition Award by the American Medical Association in 2003 for his dedication to continuing medical education and excellence in patient care.

In 2002, Dr. Agarwal and his wife, Dr. Neelu Agarwal, cofounded Cary Medical Clinic, which has grown into one of the most trusted internal medicine practices in Cary and Morrisville. Together, they bring more than 50 years of combined medical experience to the community.

Beyond his clinical work, Dr. Agarwal is an avid philanthropist who donates his time and expertise to community health fairs, including TAHT events. Since 2021, he has served as the President of the Triangle Indian American Physicians Society (TIPS), oa healthcare organization of >400 physicians    where he routinely coordinates continuing medical education programs for physicians and other healthcare professionals, fosters community engagement, and contributes his expertise to healthcare policy discussions.

Dr. Agarwal is a compassionate advocate for preventive care, patient education, and heart health. His practice philosophy centers on supporting patients in achieving long-term wellness through early detection, lifestyle guidance, and evidence-based medicine.

Dr. Neelu Agarwal

Dr. Neelu Agarwal is a Board-Certified Internal Medicine Physician with more than 25 years of clinical experience. She completed her Internal Medicine residency at Columbia University’s St. Vincent’s Medical Center in Connecticut. In 2002, she co founded Cary Medical Clinic, where she continues to provide comprehensive primary care to patients across the Triangle. She has been voted the Best Doctor in Cary in 2024, 2025 by Cary Magazine.

Her clinical interests include endocrinology, women’s health, diabetes management, preventive medicine, and metabolic wellness. She is certified in PCMH Level 3, reflecting her commitment to high-quality, patient-centered care focused on early detection, lifestyle guidance, and long-term health improvement.

An early adopter of aesthetic and anti-aging medicine, Dr. Agarwal has been trained in these procedures for the last 20 years, integrating her medical expertise with a holistic focus on improving both internal health and external well-being.

Early in her career, she worked as a hospitalist at WakeMed Cary Hospital, where she still maintains her privileges while working with their hospitalist team. As an internist, she believes deeply in empowering patients through education and supporting improvements in overall quality of life.

In addition to her clinical role, Dr. Agarwal has served as an Assistant Professor in Medicine in the past and continues to mentor Physician Assistants, Nurse Practitioners, and college students, with a strong dedication to “paying it forward” in medicine.

Outside of work, she enjoys cooking, nutrition, traveling, learning new skills, and exploring advancements in aesthetic and wellness medicine. She is a proud mother of two children and brings empathy, curiosity, and a whole-person approach to every patient she cares for.

Katie Morgan PA-C

Katie attended Virginia Tech for college where she majored in Nutrition and Exercise and minored in Public Health and earned her Bachelor’s of Science undergraduate degree. She then attended South College in Nashville, TN where she earned her Masters of Science degree in Physician Assistant Studies. Katie is from Ellicott City, Maryland and is passionate about preventative medicine and creating healthy habits to improve patient’s longevity and quality of life.

Dr. Danielle DuFresne

Dr. Danielle DuFresne is a compassionate and dedicated Physician Assistant at Cary Medical Clinic. A native of Oregon, Danielle has called North Carolina home since 2019. She holds dual graduate degrees—a Master of Physician Assistant Studies (MPAP) and a Master of Science in Public Health (MS) from Campbell University—and earned her undergraduate degree in Human Physiology with a minor in Anthropology on a full scholarship from the University of Oregon.

Danielle embodies the mission and core values of Cary Medical Clinic, providing patient-centered, holistic care, collaborating closely with specialists, and going above and beyond to support her patients. With a strong background in primary care and rehabilitation, she excels at helping patients navigate complex medical issues while ensuring they feel heard, supported, and cared for.

Outside of work, Danielle enjoys spending time with her two dogs, Lola and Spencer who keep her life full of joy and energy.

Charlotte Harlow, PA-C

Charlotte Harlow is a Physician Assistant who graduated from the High Point University PA program and is originally from Albany, NY. She has been part of the Cary Medical Clinic team since 2023 and now calls North Carolina home.

Charlotte is known for her charming personality, dedication to fitness, and excellent bedside manner. She continually hones her clinical skills to provide outstanding care, always following through to ensure the best outcomes for her patients. Her commitment to patient well-being has made her a trusted provider, and many patients specifically seek her care.
